3 Ways to Prepare for a Busy Week

Adulthood is saying, "But after this week things will slow down a bit" over and over until you die.

If you know ahead of time, here are 3 ways to prepare for a busy week:

  1. Clean the House
    • Looking at an overflowing trash can makes me stressed out. Tidying and re-setting the house before your busy week will make the inevitable mess during not so bad.
  2. Meal Planning
    • Having a casserole to pull out of the freezer (or planning an easy breakfast for dinner night) will greatly help your stress during the busy week! Meal plan before grocery shopping so you don’t have to add in an unexpected grocery store trip to your already busy week!
  3. Think about routines and re-set if needed
    • Lay everyone’s clothes out the night before- include shoes, bags, items for errands.
      • You can even plan a full week’s worth of outfits! I would do this when I taught face-to-face–I bought a sweater organizer for my closet, so I had one section per day. Once a week while folding laundry, I would put together outfits and accessories and put them straight into the appropriate section, and not waste time folding the clothes away in dresser drawers or hanging them in the closet.
    • Think through what needs to be done in the morning to get everyone out the door. How can you simplify this? What matters to you? Can the kids eat breakfast in the car on the way to school, or is it important to have the entire family sit down and enjoy breakfast together?
    • Whatever time period seems rushed, think through ways to ease that rushed time-frame in the future.

If I was buying another one, I would get this one for rolling up camisoles and storing them in the side pockets- https://amzn.to/44YvMSJ

Preparing for a busy week before it starts is just being kind to your future self.
