From Chaos to Calm: Organizing Your Teen's Study Space

From Chaos to Calm: Organizing Your Teen’s Study Space

Your teen needs a plan for where they will study and do homework. Take it from someone who often fell asleep reading a textbook on her bed in college.

Ideas:

  • Phone charging station in another room
  • Desk or table
  • Bin for paperwork that doesn’t need to go to school every day (with a folder per class)
  • Noise canceling headphones
  • Scratch paper
  • Pens, pencils, highlighters
  • Calculator

Having a stash of basic school supplies will save you a last minute run to the store! Think about poster board and markers as well as the supplies above.

Make It Portable:

If you don’t have space for a dedicated work space, that’s okay! Make it portable. Put all of the supplies in a bin or on a rolling cart at the end of the homework session, and give your teen a place to store it.
