If I Were You by Lynn Austin is a riveting Christian historical fiction novel about an upstairs/ downstairs friendship. The story revolves around one friend’s grand manor house and begins just after WWI. The book keeps you engaged with what happens to the two friends throughout WWII and beyond- helping you learn history through books (Great War, WWII, post-WWII British and American history).

The ending was pleasing yet… unsatisfying. It ended slightly too soon in my opinion. However, I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves WWII historical fiction and/ or Downton Abbey!

Age Recommendation:
