There is nothing quite like reading with a puppy curled up on your feet.
We adopted a dog this week, and he is the smartest, calmest puppy. (So far) he’s been easy to train- we’ve almost gotten him house-trained, and we’re working on no jumping right now.
My husband and I read The Art of Raising a Puppy by The Monks of New Skete and are constantly referring back to it. I also wrote out a long-range plan for training our pup in my planner so I would remember what to focus on each week (adjusting of course for how fast/slow our dog is taking to his training).
The Art of Raising a Puppy details the puppy’s developmental process so you understand what is going on at different ages of your dog. It teaches you how to be the “pack leader” and discusses different training challenges and ways to problem-solve them.
