Organization is a Learnable Skill by Lisa Woodruff

I decided to read Organization is a Learnable Skill by Lisa Woodruff for the M. Judson Bookseller’s (Greenville, South Carolina) 2023 Reading Challenge: read a memoir written by someone who has your dream job. I love Lisa’s podcast (Organize 365), and one of her other books, The Paper Solution.

The podcast is great for when I need some organizing motivation (with a toddler, I’m constantly having to re-organize different spaces and ALL THE CLOTHES).

I highlighted and sticky-noted my way through The Paper Solution, then cleaned out the file cabinet and created my binders. I had already been using the Sunday Basket (a system where you set aside little tasks and reminders, and do them all at once, once per week). This is super helpful for me! I can then plan a time during the week to make phone calls, run errands, etc. I also meal plan and order groceries when I’m going through my Sunday Basket.

The Paper Solution

Organization is a Learnable Skill is more of a memoir of what led Lisa to starting her own business, and the different variations she went through before creating Organize 365, which was fascinating! As Lisa says, if your home is organized, you have more time to do what you are uniquely created to do, and she’s right!

Organization is a Learnable Skill

While I wouldn’t want Lisa’s exact job, I do admire how she began her own business, and continues to grow in her excitement with new ways to grow her company. Her excitement is contagious!
