It’s important to start working ahead before a vacation as soon as you know when you will be gone.

Put the dates in your monthly spread.

Let your teacher know when and that you would like to work ahead before the vacation- ask if they have any suggestions.

Look at how much work is due during your vacation/ what’s coming up immediately after (is there a test on your first day back? A project due?)

Figure out how many extra assignments you need to complete per day or week before your vacation

How many assignments are you supposed to complete during your vacation?

Then, figure out how many days or weeks you have to work before the vacation.

Divide # of assignments by # of weeks = number of additional assignments per week that need to be completed

For example:

You will need to complete Unit 4 (12 assignments) during your vacation. Your vacation is 3 weeks away.

12 / 3 = 4 additional assignments each week
