I’ve divided the year into chunks. I like Sarah Hart-Unger’s quintile system. Her life looks different when her kids are home from school, so she divides the year into seasons of life, or the school calendar. Read more about her system here.

I am not using traditional quarters of the year, but there are four, so I’ve decided to call them chunks.

Chunk 2 (June – July)

My school is on a modified year-round schedule, so teachers actually start back at the end of July. We have a shortened summer, but we do get at least a long weekend per month, which is so nice.

I plan on creating a new online course during this chunk (more details to come!).

Chunk 3 (August – September)

Plan No Mo Chemo Party!!

Schedule fall fun.

Chunk 4 (October – December)

The major goal for this chunk is preparing for the holidays. I really like buying/ making all of the Christmas presents before Thanksgiving, so I can really intentionally spend time with family and enjoy all of the Christmas things.

This includes prepping Halloween costume/ candy, baking for Thanksgiving as well, and prepping Christmas cards as well. For the past couple of years, I’ve used Shutterfly to send Christmas cards. It took awhile to enter all of the addresses (with a mail merge from a Google Sheets I already had), but now being able to have Shutterfly print the addresses on the envelopes saves so much time! You can also have them stamp the envelopes as well. I love sending and receiving Christmas cards, but actually putting them together is not something I enjoy (other than designing the card itself). So paying for the envelopes to be addressed is worth it to me.

More Long-Term Goals

  • Pay off debt
  • Give back to the children’s’ cancer community in some way
